The U.S. government often looks for ways to help us reduce our environmental footprints and save energy inside of our homes and businesses. Recently, new government regulations via the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA) have mandated that water heater manufacturers can no longer make electric water heaters of a certain size. However, because this has a big effect on many homes and commercial properties, contractors are still allowed to sell and install these units—although there is a limited supply left.

Get a Large Electric Tank Water Heater While You Still Can!

New energy efficiency changes cause electrical system installation standards to shift frequently. Recently, the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act deemed it necessary to stop the manufacture of electric water heaters of a certain size due to concerns over the amount of energy they use to run. Standard electric water heaters over 55 gallons in volume are no longer permitted for production, although they can still be purchased and installed.
